The beautiful city of Atlanta, Georgia offers a variety of fun activities your entire family is sure to love. Although there are far more things to do in the city than one could probably fit into a single weekend, there are a few absolutes 'musts that I would highly recommend. These include visiting the Georgia Aquarium, the CNN Center, the Phillips Arena and Centennial Olympic Park. All are conveniently located within walking distance of each other.
The Georgia Aquarium is the world's largest, with a whopping eight million gallons of water! It offers a truly educational experience, with numerous interactive activities for your children to enjoy. For convenience, you can book hotel accommodations at the breathtaking Embassy Suites Hotel Atlanta at Centennial Olympic Park, which happens to be adjacent to the aquarium.
The CNN Center is a family favorite, boasting a huge food court and a spectacular inside view of the Omni Hotel, which is attached to the CNN Center and consists of over 400 rooms. The CNN Center is also connected to the Phillips Arena, which hosts exciting concerts throughout the year and is also home to both the Atlanta Hawks (NBA) and the Atlanta Thrashers (NHL). And of course, the CNN Center happens to be the headquarters of the Cable News Network!
Centennial Olympic Park offers outdoor excitement with free concerts, an ice skating rink, the exciting 'Fountain of Rings (a child favorite), and a Family Fun day every fourth Saturday of the month - complete with exciting, interactive and educational activities that every member of your family can enjoy. |
